K. LUND Offshore a/s is the leading supplier of air compressors for offshore platforms in the North Sea. The core products are centrifugal or screw compressors for plant and instrument air used for critical operations including man-riding winches and platform instrument control. Reciprocating compressors are used for nitrogen, hydrocarbon gases and high pressure air. We design, engineer and test all bespoke packages as well as standard units manufactured by our partners, Ingersoll-Rand and Greenfield (Sulzer Burckhardt). Complementary products include air and hydraulic hoists and winches, hydraulic cylinders, jacks and tools manufactured by Larzep. We offer long and short-term winch rental and HPU rental.

OFFSHORE PLANT AND INSTRUMENT AIR COMPRESSORS

The centrifugal or rotary screw "air ends" are supplied by Ingersoll-Rand and we completely design and re-package these to meet the most demanding standards encountered. Our 'back yard' is the Norwegian sector of the North Sea and we have supplied over 99% of all this sector's projects, i.e. there are over 100 air compressor units in use today in the North Sea that we have designed, delivered and continue to service.

Since 2003 we have expanded our customer-segment abroad and exports now a lots of equipment all over the world. We have made compressors and dryers to Petrobras in Brazil, the Sakhalin-project in Russia and our biggest ordre ever was delivered to the Kasaghan-project in Kazakhstan in 2006.

Ingersoll-Rand units have proven long life and represent the industry's technical edge in efficiency. We incorporate their reliability into our purpose-built designs which are developed with the user, often on a project-by-project basis. However, parts for service replacement are all standard and available worldwide without difficulty.

Naturally, we have CAD software which helps to create conceptual drawings for the tight envelopes required. The piping and connection details fit first time, every time. Our philosophy is to get it right before we ship - anywhere in the world.

AIR DRYERS FOR OFFSHORE USE

K Lund have designed and manufactured air dryers since the late 1980s. We started doing this, because it was difficult to get other manufacturers to make dryers according to the stringent offshore requirements. The design is conventional - no need to re-invent anything simple - well proven and with material and components selected for a low costs and long cycle.

We manufacture both hot and cold regenerative dryers, tailored for different project layouts and control.

The control system can be either a local PLC or integrated in the plant's system. We have long experience with the majority of PLC brands and will meet all users' preferences.

RECIPROCATING COMPRESSORS

Just as with the core units made by Ingersoll-Rand, we take GreenField Compression Inc's well-respected reciprocating compressors and convert them to the requirements of the offshore industry. GreenField products are probably better known by their heritage name of Sulzer-Burckhardt. Most of the reciprocating compressors offshore are used for nitrogen and high-pressure air. We also package reciprocating compressors for hydrocarbon gases. K.LUND Offshore has a long tradition in engineering, packaging and full FAT tests on reciprocating compressors.

AIR AND HYDRAULIC HOISTS AND WINCHES

We are a North Sea main distributor for Ingersoll-Rand hoists and winches. Usually these units are perfectly designed and adaptable to most customers' requirements. However, there is occasionally a demand for a special control on a hoist or spooling gear on a winch. K. Lund Offshore provides the same design and manufacturing service for hoists and winches as we do for compressors.

SALE AND RENTAL OF HEAVY LIFTING EQUIPMENT, HYDRAULIC JACKS AND TOOLS

The products we have in our rental fleet are the same as the products we sell. Our service engineers are "manufacturer authorised" for the products. This ensures a high technical standard and provides our customers with the correct products for the job as well as technical assistance and follow up.

DEPARTMENT IN BRASIL

In 2005 we started an department in Macaè in Brasil. K Lund do Brasil have now seven employees and the office manager is Estewam Santello, who have experience with Ingersoll-Rand Compressors in many years.

K. Lund Offshore is the product of the devolvement of Maskin K. Lund a/s into two units. Our heritage stretches back to 1898 when Maskin K.Lund became one of Ingersoll-Rand's earliest distributors. Sometime in the last century we became I-R's oldest distributor in the world and remain so today.
