InterDam Merford offers fire and blast walls and doors for offshore / onshore applications. InterDam Merford provides standard and customised products including:

Blast and fire resistant doors and walls

InterDam Merford has the ability to reply to market queries in a flexible way. We provide both innovative and customised standard solutions for passive fire and blast protection and industrial constructions from sheet metal.

It is our aim to find the optimal balance between engineered solutions and standardised products. Design, engineering and most importantly product development and structural calculations are all done in-house with well trained, professional staff. Fabrication is done at our large, modern, fully-automatic production facilities in Gorinchem.

Extensive engineering input is an integral part of all InterDam Merford contracts and contributes considerably to our continuing success. Key personnel at all levels have wide experience in both the design and construction of on and offshore structures, which ensures that specification requirements and smooth site operation are achieved.

Heavy duty external fire doors and fire door maintenance

InterDam Merford fire doors constitute a heavy duty, fully certified range that covers fire ratings from A0 up to H120 including jet fire requirements. Doors are also able to withstand a blast overpressure (up to 2.5bar blast).

Doors will be pre-assembled as complete units and provided with heavy duty special in-house designed hardware. For example, to meet the specific Norsok requirements we have designed a special mechanical opening device that ensures a maximum opening force of 5kg for heavy duty sliding doors, called the Ergo Latch©.

The door designs are versatile and can be adapted to meet our clients' particular requirements. Early consultation can result in a detailed design best suited to the overall platform design philosophy.

External blast wall systems and explosion resistant walls

Interdam Merford has a large variety of wall designs, consisting of a bolted wall design (IDM ProPanel) and a welded wall configuration (IDM Panel Welded). Both systems range from A0 up to H120 fire rating. To complete the range we also have our own design cladding system (blast relief), louvres and heat shields.

Advantages of the IDM ProPanel include:

• These wall types comprise a thin-gauged galvanised coil, coated or stainless steel and pre-insulated elements shaped to offer an optimal span to weight ratio, and are bolted to the supporting structure
• The systems quite easily allow for adoptions to deviations at site as no welding or any other hot work or painting is required, therefore they are pre-eminently suited for refurbishment jobs
• These wall types exhibit optimal weight efficiency by their corrugated shape, which can be engineered to suit any set of boundary conditions with regard to span, loading and available depth
• The wall systems can easily be accommodated to withstand the specified blast overpressure, they are fully (seal) welded for 100% air, gas and water tightness

Apart from these standard systems regularly modified types are designed to suit specific project requirements that cannot be met with standard systems, such as blast resistance, jet fire requirements etc.
