  • Increases efficiency when passing intermediate anchor points

Increased safety:

  • Anti-error feature to help avoid accidents due to incorrect installation of the rope in the device

  • Anti-panic handle: the I'D® will lock onto the rope if the user pulls too hard on the handle

Comfortable to use:

  • To descend, simply pull on the handle; the rate of descent is controlled by varying the grip on the free end of the rope with the other hand
  • For work positioning, the handle can be rotated to secure the I'D® in place on the rope, thus eliminating the need to "tie off" the device
  • Ascending the rope is possible without changing the position of the device: simply add a footloop and a handled rope clamp / grab
  • May be used to belay a leader or a second

May be used as a progress capture device in a haul system; allows rapid conversion between raising and lowering.
