The VIKING Group Takes Over

The Danish large-scale manufacturer and supplier of life-saving equipment to the whole world, VIKING LIFE-SAVING EQUIPMENT A/S, announce their takeover of the majority of the activities of their Norwegian competitor, Norsafe Selantic AS. This company manufactures evacuation systems mainly to the offshore industry.

The activities taken over by VIKING will be carried on by a newly established subsidiary under the name of VIKING LIFE-SAVING EQUIPMENT Bergen AS.

VIKING has its head office in Denmark. The VIKING group is represented in every corner of the world: A distribution network of subsidiaries located in Finland, Norway (Oslo – and now Bergen), Sweden, Germany, England, Holland, France, Spain, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, UAE, USA and Canada plus a servicing network of approx 300 VIKING authorized servicing stations located in strategically important customer sales and servicing points and markets ensure global VIKING representation.

The expansion of the VIKING group is a result of a determined and stepped up effort to be close to our customers all over the world. On the background of this global presence, VIKING provide optimal procurement and servicing opportunities to our customers.

By taking over the offshore activities from the Norwegian company, the VIKING group broaden their foundation of providing service to this particular group of customers in future.

The product concept represents a fine supplement to the existing range of products which is based upon VIKING’s long-standing knowledge and experience as the world’s biggest supplier of Marine Evacuation Systems. VIKING is the only supplier in the world being in a position to offer their customers both slide-based and chute-based evacuation systems.
