Compass Water Solutions (CWS), a specialist in designing and manufacturing water treatment, separation and filtration solutions, is growing its presence and aftermarket support in the burgeoning offshore sector in Brazil. The company has developed the capability to provide equipment with local content and provide local support.
Working with its Brazilian partners, Compass Water Solutions has developed the capability to provide local Brazilian content. CWS can achieve Brazil’s strict local content requirements without issue.
CWS provides ULTRA-SEP™ MEPC.107(49) oily water separators utilizing local labor and materials. SPIR-O-LATOR® membrane technology is the heart of ULTRA-SEP, providing a Positive Physical Barrier™ to oil and other contaminants, preventing them from passing through to the monitor or overboard. The ULTRA-SEP guarantees overboard discharge of less than 5ppm.
CWS recently delivered high-specification ULTRA-SEP slop water separators for a number of Brazilian semi-submersible projects. The scope of materials and procedures for these projects where in accordance with Petrobras standards, including explosion-proof controls and Portuguese equipment labels, while the documentation met Brazil’s strict specific documentation standards such as the NR13 dossier.
Recently, CWS successfully delivered multiple unit packages of AQUA-SEP® reverse osmosis (RO) fresh water generators and ULTRA-SEP bilge water separators for three new semi-submersible platforms contracted for operations in Brazil.
Compass Water Solutions has a 15-year relationship with Mega Water Systems, its local sales channel partner. In 2010, CWS authorized NatClean Ambiental to conduct local service. NatClean, a Mega Water subsidiary, is certified to perform service and stocks genuine CWS spare parts. Each NatClean service technician has received extensive training at CWS’ California headquarters on all equipment, including AQUA-SEP reverse osmosis (RO) fresh water generators and ULTRA-SEP oily water separators. Through NatClean, CWS is proud to offer local, bi-lingual support and services of its equipment in Brazil.
In conjunction with Mega Water and to support the growing offshore supply vessel (OSV) installation base in Brazil, CWS has developed a Portuguese operations manual for its ULTRA-SEP Compact series of MEPC.107(49) bilge water separators. This complete manual offers all operational instruction and trouble-shooting procedures as the factory English version.
Since 1995, CWS has been providing oily water separators and reverse osmosis fresh water generating equipment to Brazil. To date, the company has approximately 200 ULTRA-SEP 5ppm oily water separators, HELI-SEP® oily water separators and AQUA-SEP RO fresh water generator units active in Brazil.
With the additional benefits of high Brazilian equipment content, Portuguese documentation and local service, Compass Water Solutions equipment is becoming the preferred bilge, slop water separator and fresh water generator provider in Brazil.
