Rawwater Engineering is an oil industry flow-assurance company that provides specialist testing and consultancy in the fields of well technology, well sealing, oilfield souring and improved oil recovery.
Our experts each have over 25 years of experience in the oil industries. Rawwater boasts many major oil companies among its clients and works within a worldwide network of consultants, senior academic institutions and industry service providers. We enjoy an established reputation for providing practical operational solutions in the following areas:
Rawwater has developed a software package which forecasts oilfield reservoir souring. The model uses operational, planning and survey data to generate future profiles of hydrogen sulphide in all phases under any temperature and pressure conditions.
The prediction software is an industry-benchmarked model and is web-enabled. We help companies to take informed decisions about material selection, production and chemical treatments, and have confidence in heath and safety compliance. Rawwater is able to manage your data and provide forecasting from our office to enable global access by companies via the web to the prediction software.
We also offer Rawwater training workshops to companies who want to understand and manage the software themselves, enabling them to run their own sour gas planning models in-house.
Rawwater designed and built Europe's largest suite of pressurised bioreactors to simulate downhole conditions. We investigate both oilfield souring and improved oil recovery. With over $2m investment from industry, Rawwater has attracted the attention of research groups from around the world to assist in their model building and to better understand biological reservoir processes.
Careful simulation of oilfield conditions means customers can be confident that treatments in the laboratory will be close in behaviour to those in the field: chemical dose optimisation in the lab translates directly to large cost savings and increased productivity.
Rawwater has developed low melting point alloys to achieve highly effective metal-to-metal seals in well environments. Originally sponsored by Shell to create ultra high integrity well abandonment plugs, one is under trial in an onshore gas well.
Metal-to-metal seal products are innovative in several ways and represent a radical application of a unique material with benign environmental impact. Our expertise is rooted in a fundamental knowledge of materials’ properties, experimental design and computational modelling.Â
We guide our clients in the use of metal alloys to develop new opportunities for high-performance permanent and reversible seals. Rawwater's in-depth understanding of bismuth alloys not only attracted support from the UK Government but with considerable company investment over the last ten years, we have ensured that we are the leading experts in this proven and patent protected technology.
