LATEST NEWS

Producing products with advanced technology that exploits steel to its very limits demands a degree of experience. Long ago, Dillinger Hütte made the decision to specialise in supplying heavy plate for applications with exacting quality demands or unusual dimensions:

  • Length: 28.000 mm
  • Width: 5.200 mm
  • Thickness: 410 mm
  • Weight: 36 t

Steel heavy plate produced to such exacting specifications is manufactured further into offshore platforms, bridge girders, ships, skyscrapers, excavator shovels, pipelines and pressure tanks.

Dillinger Hütte believes in delivering the best steel for different applications and therefore the whole production process is tailored to meet individual customer requirements.

A special service is available for heavy fabrication. Dillinger Hütte can take care of the difficult initial steps of cutting, forming and welding plates for you.

INDUSTRY STANDARDS

For the offshore industry, Dillinger Hütte GTS not only supplies steels in accordance with EN 10225, BS 7191, API (with API Monogram for 2H, 2Y, 2W and RP2Z qualification), NORSOK, but also in accordance with customer specifications.

FIXED AND FLOATING PLATFORM CONSTRUCTION

Steels with yield strengths of 275 to 690 N/mm² are supplied for fixed and floating platform construction. The TMCP steels are of particular importance here, their technology having been significantly developed by Dillinger Hütte GTS. They stand out as a result of their excellent fabrication properties (welding, cold forming), which is combined with a high degree of strength and toughness. The steel also fulfils the exacting regulatory requirements for North Sea constructions. Project management control for large-scale projects is usual. The most important recent Offshore Projects are:

Akal, Angsi, Asgard, Al Shaheen, Armada, Borouge, Boulton, Britannia, Bruce, Bunga Kekwa, Cabinda, Caister-Murdoch, Cakerawala, Cantarell, Captain, Corvette, Cup Norway, Dan FF, Diana, Ekofisk II, Eldfisk, EPC 22, ETAP, Galleon, Girassol, Halley, Harald A+B, Heimdal, Hibernia, Huldra, Jade, Jotun, Judy+Joanne, Jupiter, Ketch, Kitina, Kittiwake, Lavit, Likalala, Liverpool Bay, Maharaja Lela, Malampaya, Masa, Myanmar, Nana Maersk, Nemba Lomba, Njord, Ofon, Oseberg East, Oseberg Gas, Petrojet, Petronius, Raya, Resak, Roar, Ruby, Sable, Schooner, Selegi, Shearwater, SIDECO, Siri, Sirri, Snorre 2, Snorre B, South Pars, Tambar, Tapis E, Terra Nova, Troll C, Tunu North, Tschibelli, Tyra, Ursa, Usari, Valhall, Varg, Visund, Windermere, Zaafrana, Zakum, and others.

LINEPIPES

The linepipe is the traditional field for the use of thermomechanically rolled steels. Dillinger Hütte’s delivery programme includes all steels acc. API 5 up to X80. Steels can also be supplied in accordance with other regulations. Normalised variants can be supplied for special areas, e.g. hot formed fittings. Most of the steels can be supplied with special resistance to sourgas (HIC). Close co-operation with pipe manufacturers results in optimised offers for the end-user, which take advantage of the unusual dimensional possibilities offered by Dillinger Hütte GTS. Most important recent Linepipe-Projects are:

Alliance, Botas, Chochin, Destin, Diana, Dukhan, Eldfisk, ETAP, Igat, Interconnector, Jagal, Maqta, Norfra, Sona, South Arne, South Pars, Transcanada, Transco, Yamal, Zeepipe, and others.
