Liaaen Teknologi is part of Strata Marine & Offshore AS which consists of Amek AS, Amek Technology AS, Brevik Engineering AS, Liaaen Teknologi AS and Standard Engineering AS. The group is newly established and has become a significant company within engineering, fabrication and testing for the maritime and oil and gas industry in Northern Europe. Our engineers have high competence in the fields of structure, piping, subsea valves, machining, thermal insulation analysis, flow assurance and testing.

Liaaen Teknologi is situated in Aalesund and has office and workshop facilities in the centre of town. We specialize in design and engineering work for the maritime industry and the international oil and gas market.

Our modern workshop can carry out advanced machining, with large components as speciality. The 2,000m² assembly shop has a capable testing and assembly facility, including a large seawater pool for all kinds of wet tests, and also special facility for thermal testing.

ENGINEERING AND MARITIME TECHNOLOGY

Liaaen's activities on the engineering side of the business include feasibility studies, mechanical engineering, strength analysis, complete development of new components and systems, verification work and technical documentation. As part of its maintenance work, the company refurbishes and maintains equipment for the oil industry, tests equipment through pressure testing, functional tests and integration testing, and assembles prototypes, products and other items.

MILLING, CNC BORING, TURNING AND VERTICAL TURNING

Liaaen's machining processes consist of milling, CNC boring, turning and vertical turning. Its workshop and machine facilities are specially suited for machining medium sized and large components.

VALVE TECHNOLOGY AND PIPELINES

Within valve technology and pipelines, we have a special technology developed several years ago that is reinstalled and retrievable within valves. This is not that common and we know that clients such as Exxon Mobil are looking into this because developments are going deeper underwater. Most large companies that develop oil fields look for a quick turnaround on projects so they prefer equipment that is easy to install, retrieve and maintain.

SUBSEA INSULATION SYSTEM (SIS)

Our Subsea Insulation System (SIS) is another new technology. It is a field proven system to 1,400m that we use to insulate components that typically could not be insulated before - basically all components that were breakable, such as connection systems. Very few companies can deliver this kind of new technology.
