CCI Releases High-Performance Valve Actuation System
15 August 2003 12:44
Rancho Santa Margarita, California – CCI is pleased to announce the release of its innovative QuickTrak™ (patents pending) valve actuation system, designed to meet the high-performance requirements of turbine bypass, compressor recycle, nuclear vent, and boiler control applications. This groundbreaking design eliminates the need for accessories such as quick exhausts, volume boosters, and their connecting tubing. The QuickTrak™ system also provides very fast stroke speeds with no visible overshoot, instantaneous response (less than 200 ms dead time on seat), and better than 0.25% resolution. This gives the user maximum control while meeting the application’s performance requirements.
The QuickTrak™ system operates without using a mechanical linkage, allowing it to be remotely mounted. The QuickTrak™ system, with over 50 times the flow capacity of conventional “smart” positioners, also improves hysteresis, dead band, and resolution while eliminating the harmful effects of vibration, temperature, and hazardous environments. A uniquely designed electronic feedback module prevents non-linearity of the feedback signal to improve plant performance.
QuickTrak™ offers all the latest features of “smart” positioners (including diagnostics and compatibility with Hart® or other protocols) but provides a complete system of actuation control. Conventional “smart” positioner systems for fast-acting control valves can take up to 12 hours to tune because of the interactions among all the system components. In contrast, the CCI QuickTrak™ system can be tuned in minutes and does not lose calibration between system outages. QuickTrak™ will save your plant valuable time, energy, and money.
