CCI Introduces the Innovative DA-90DSV Attemperator
07 June 2007 10:47
CCI has applied its DRAG® velocity control and desuperheating expertise to create the new DA-90DSV attemperator.
The new product is designed to solve problems created by interstage attemperators in Heat Recovery Steam Generating plants.
FEATURES
- The DA-90DSV attemperator has a fully forged one-piece chrome moly design with no welding. This eliminates weld failure due to high thermal cycling. Traditional attemperator designs often rely on pressure boundary and tack welds.
- CCI’s design moves the valve trim out of the steam flow and away from harsh thermal conditions. Many conventional integrated designs place the trim (control component) in the steam flow exposing the trim to high-temperature damage.
- CCI can easily retrofit probe style designs.
- The DA-90DSV features CCI's DRAG velocity control trim that can package up to 20 stages of pressure drops. This will prevent the damage and premature wear often suffered by single-stage control elements, which can lead to leakage and cavitation.
- In addition, the DA-90DSV has a tapered profile to minimize vibrations caused by harmonic frequencies associated with vortex shedding. This becomes important as pipe sizes and the attemperator lengths increase.
DA-90DSV ADVANTAGES
- Minimizes leakage.
- Handles high thermal stresses.
- Provides enhanced controllability.
- Prevents cavitation damage.
- Matches common face-to-face dimensions.
- Lowers maintenance costs.
- Minimizes erosion damage.
- Sustains high plant efficiency.
