H. Schroeder - Pump Protection FittingsH. Schroeder has been manufacturing pump protection fittings since 1950, and is now utilised by more than 1,400 companies. H. Schroeder offers working and accepted pump protection solutions which are well-known in the offshore business. The main products in our portfolio for application in the offshore sector are our special SSV10 / 18 compensating bypass check valves, our SMA63 / 64 automatic minimum-flow system, and our SR / SA pressure and flow control valves. H. SCHROEDER PUMP PROTECTION FITTINGSH. Schroeder's pump protection devices automatically protect centrifugal pumps from damage caused by partial evaporation of the water content during low-load operation. As soon as the pump capacity drops below a predetermined flow-rate, the bypass valve opens sufficiently to maintain the minimum required pump flow-rate. This rate is maintained even if the flow through the main valve to the process is completely shut off. The bypass flow can amount to up to 35% of the main flow. SSV 10 / 18 COMPENSATING BYPASS CHECK VALVESSSV10 and SSV18 compensating bypass check valves can be utilised for pressures up to 220bar and temperatures from -250°C up to +300°C. The valves are manufactured in the sizes DN25 to DN500. The SSV18 valve range is ideal for when a non-return valve is required in the bypass. SSV10 and SSV18 compensating bypass check valves operate without additional auxiliary energy. SMA 63 / 64 AUTOMATIC MINIMUM FLOW SYSTEMUsing the SMA 63 / 64 automatic minimum flow system means that the bypass can be completely opened or closed, through actuation of the bypass via a valve-control plunger. This on / off regulation of the bypass makes it possible to increase the load limit from 200bar to 400bar. The preferred duty is in the range of nominal pressure from 250bar to 400bar. SR / SA PRESSURE AND FLOW CONTROL VALVEThe SR / SA pressure and flow control is a high-pressure control valve for liquids. It is designed for simple on / off regulation (the SA type) as well as for challenging flow control (the SR). In cases of pump protection the SR / SA high-pressure control valve is highly associated with modern process control and monitoring systems, as the minimum flow can be precisely adjusted to customer or plant requirements. With the check-back signal of the positioner (or other available sensors), the valve can be successfully integrated into every process control / monitoring system. In this way the SR / SA valve allows pump users to lower their energy and maintenance costs. In recognition of increasing pressure / temperature levels, especially in the field of electrical power engineering, the valves are designed for pressures up to pA = 600bar / 8,700psi and temperatures of TA = 400°C / 750°F. With up to ten controlled throttling stages, pressure drops around Dp = 600bar / 8,700psi can be handled trouble-free. The valve is available with flanges according to DIN and ASME, or welding ends in a standard range of DN25 to DN150 / NPS1in to NPS6in. Custom sizes are available on request.
