Snap-Tite - Quick Disconnect Couplings, Valves and Fittings

Snap-Tite companies have designed and manufactured couplings, multi-coupling panels (stab-plates), hydraulic valves, hose and high pressure valves, fittings and tubing for various industries, including the offshore industry, for many years.

Snap-Tite and Autoclave Engineers products are in service in the Saga Snorre, British Gas North Morcambe Bay, Norske Hydro Oseberg, BP Bruce, Shell Nelson, Kerr McGee Gryphon, Conoco Lyell, Texaco Strathspey, Agip Toni Fields and many other Offshore locations around the world.

COUPLINGS

Our H Series couplings are renowned in the oil industry where they have been used for 50 years. Today the H, 71 and 75 Series are used in most oilfield applications. These three series are DNV approved for offshore applications. Snap-tite has used many features in the design of couplings:

  • Numerous corrosion resistant materials
  • NACE MR-01-75 approved material for seawater and sour gas applications
  • Operating pressures from 29.7"Hg to 40,000psi (2750bar)
  • Various seal configurations using metal, polymer and elastomeric seals
  • Different coupling designs including poppet, dry break and fully balanced designs

Our latest range of subsea couplings are available with elastomer seals or polymer seals made from PEEK™.

We developed the PEEK™ sealed sub-sea coupling as a superior replacement for metal seals. PEEK™ is used extensively sub-sea as a pump and valve seal. The tensile strength of PEEK™ is comparable to that of materials used in metal seals. PEEK™ has excellent abrasion resistance and temperature stability. It's set resistance greatly exceeds that of metal seals (by a factor of 20 to 1) and it can tolerate greater abuse. It's strength, flexibility, corrosion and abrasion resistance is far better than metal seals.

VALVES

Autoclave valves are designed and built to operate safely at pressures to 150,000 psi (10,350 bar). Valve features include non-rotating stems, metal to metal seating, a choice of stem tips and many end connections to provide optimum performance in specialised fluid handling components. The AE low pressure product line features a single ferrule compression sleeve connection for fast easy make-up. AE Medium Pressure [to 20,000 psi (1,360 bar)] and High Pressure [to 150,000 psi (10,350 bar)] product lines feature Coned and Threaded connections for high strength and repeated make-up.

OIL FIELD PRODUCTS

Autoclave offers a complete series of high pressure valves and fittings for sour oil and gas applications. AE components are designed and manufactured to meet or exceed NACE MR0175 requirements plus our own exacting standards for safety, reliability and service life under high pressure operation.

SPECIALTY PRODUCTS

Autoclave offers a diverse line of high pressure valves designed for specialised operating requirements and extreme conditions. These include multidirectional and 'straight thru' ball valves, subsea valves, high temperature and cryogenic valves and NPT needle, gauge and instrument manifold valves.
