Francis Sedgemore is a freelance journalist specialising in science, technology and associated policy. Before turning to journalism Francis was for over a decade an atmospheric and space geophysicist, European Space Agency contractor and consultant.
Francis' technical background is in physics, but his broader interests include the geosciences as a whole, together with astronomy, chemistry, biology, engineering, information technology and the interface between science and art.
