Mitch Winkler is Arctic technology lead and principal technical expert Arctic engineering at Shell. He is responsible for Arctic technology strategy and technology project delivery, and best practice usage across Shell global Arctic projects. He has been in his present role since 2006. He has previously worked on metocean criteria, deepwater mooring technology and development planning.
Mitch joined Shell in 1981 and worked on Shell Oil's first Beaufort and Chukchi Sea exploration campaign including a role in design, construction, and research and development. He has a BS in civil engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth and a masters in civil engineering from Cornell University.
