SmartPlant Enterprise for Owner Operators Interface Management

Large CAPEX projects involve many different parties: the plant owner operator project team; owner operator corporate process owners, corporate service departments; a project management contractor (PMC), multiple EPC contractors; suppliers; and possibly design institutes. Interface management provides for the control of technical interfaces between all of these different organisations that are involved in a project.

A typical CAPEX project will have 20 to 100 separate interfaces that need to be managed, each with hundreds of interface issues that need to be resolved. The traditional use of Microsoft® Excel® spreadsheets or ad hoc databases is insufficient for managing the complexity of the interfaces and reporting needs from project management.
