Analysing the H2S MOS Sensor ‘Going to Sleep’ MythTyco Gas & Flame Detection
H2S MOS sensors systems are infamously perceived as being susceptible to rapid sensitivity loss.
The truth is that some solid state sensors will degrade in sensitivity at such a pace that from one calibration interval to the next, it appears as though the sensor has completely lost its sensitivity to scale.
In many of these compromised cases, it was found that repeated high doses of H2S could temporarily recover some of the lost H2S sensitivity, implying that it had 'gone to sleep' because it appeared that 'it could partially be woken up'.
