Offshore Developments to Meet Requirements

07 June 2007 16:47

Qatargas is in the process of undertaking developments offshore to meet the raw gas requirements of the Qatargas 2, 3 and 4 projects. Thirty wells will be drilled for Qatargas 2 from 3 wellhead platforms.

Qatargas 3 and 4 will have three wellheads, each with 11 wells.

Qatargas offshore production, separation and treatment facilities on the North Field (North Field Bravo – NFB) are located about 80km northeast of the Qatar mainland.

The Qatargas 2 production facilities will receive power from North Field Bravo and will be operated from the existing control room, the LNG firm's latest newsletter said.

It said some 20 production wells have been drilled and completed to supply 1,600 million standard cubic feet (45 million cubic metres) of raw natural gas a day from the field's reservoir, underneath the seabed.
