Carbon on Oslo Agenda

22 June 2007 17:24

Industry experts gathered in Norway today to address the issue of carbon capture and storage in preparation for the G8 summit next year.

Organiser Statoil says the conference in Oslo aims to provide concrete advice with regard to policy-making regarding the use of fossil fuels.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) and the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum (CSLF) interest group will discuss how pioneer projects in carbon capture and storage can evolve on a global scale.

Statoil says it is important that all delegates contribute incentives, regulations and legislation to ensure a broad implementation of carbon storage for the future to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
