Statoil Signs Green Technology Agreements

16 July 2007 16:43

Norwegian oil company Statoil has signed frame agreements with US-based suppliers of technology products Dresser-Rand and Italian company Nuovo Pignone to provide energy-efficient equipment.

The agreements - worth Nkr7.8bn (around $1.4bn) - are for the supply of new equipment, modification and maintenance of turbo machinery on all Statoil-operated platforms and land plants.

Texas-based Dresser-Rand will provide equipment produced in France, the US and Norway. Italian Nuovo Pignone, owned by General Electric (GE), will handle the contract from Italy.

Statoil says the two companies will be important partners in its work to increase energy efficiency and to reduce emissions from its facilities.

The company say several maintenance and service agreements for this area are expected to awarded after the summer.
