Petrobras Confirm Santos Basin Oil Discovery

Brazilian oil company Petrobras has confirmed a light oil discovery in the Tupi well, in deep Santos Basin waters off the Brazilian coast.

The tests confirm the first discovery made via the well in July, with a production of about 2,000 barrels of oil and 65,000 cubic meters of natural gas per day.

Flow is currently limited due to operating installation tests and security reasons.

The Tupi area is located in Block BM-S-11, which is operated by Petrobras in a consortium with BG Group and Portuguese oil refiner Petrogal.
