Maersk Secures Arabian Gulf Deal

Danish drilling contractor Maersk Contractors, part of the AP Moller-Maersk Group, has secured a contract with Dubai-based oil and gas company Dubai Petroleum Establishment for jack-up drilling operations in the Arabian Gulf.

Maersk says a new 350ft jack-up rig will handle deep and difficult well drilling with greater efficiency.

The three year drilling contract is to begin when the rig arrives in Dubai at the end of the first quarter in 2008.
