Providence Gets Lucky With Irish Oil

10 October 2007 15:42

Irish oil and gas exploration company Providence Resources has announced an oil and gas discovery in the North Celtic Sea basin, off southern Ireland.

The Hook Head appraisal well was drilled to a total depth of 4,880ft, using the semi-submersible drilling rig Petrolia.

The company, together with its partners, has now ended well-testing operations with preliminary evaluation revealing three "good quality" prospective hydrocarbon bearing reservoirs with associated gas.
