Schlumberger Buys New Exploration Technology

18 October 2007 12:47

Global oilfield services company Schlumberger has bought rights to develop and distribute remote access visualization technology for oilfield exploration.

The ThinAnywhere remote access 3D graphics visualisation technology is manufactured by US-based technology company Mercury International Technology.

Schlumberger says it will use this technology in its LiveQuest solution (sign-on remote access software) to provide 3D thin client access and enable centralised application support.

Schlumberger will acquire all existing contracts for ThinAnywhere in the oil and gas sector.
