China to Build Semi-Submersible Platform

Chinese oil and gas supplier China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) is planning construction of a deep-water, semi-submersible drilling platform in Shanghai, Eastern China.

The platform will become the first of its kind in the country, designed to drill up to a depth of 3,000m, helping to cut costs of deep-water exploration and exploitation.
