Snøhetta Comes Up Dry05 November 2007 12:33 Norwegian oil company StatoilHydro has announced its Snøhetta prospect in the Norwegian Sea has come up dry. The well was drilled to a total depth of 2,710m below sea level but has no proven hydrocarbons. Only thin layers of sandstone were found in the potential reservoir zones. The company has now permanently plugged and abandoned the well. The wildcat was started in September with the main objective to test for hydrocarbons in upper cretaceous rocks, according StatoilHydro. By staff writer » Email this link to a friend |
