Transocean Wins Anadarko Drilling Deal

The world's largest offshore drilling company Transocean has won a three-year contract from US-based mining and exploration company Anadarko Petroleum for drilling operations in the US Gulf of Mexico.

Transocean's ultra deepwater floater the Discoverer Spirit

- which is capable of operating in water depths of up to 10,000ft - is expected to start drilling in December 2010.

Transocean estimate profits from the drilling project to hit US$569.4m.
