Petrobras Begins Production at Campos Basin

30 November 2007 10:57

Brazil's state-run oil company Petrobras has started output at its P-52 platform in the Campos Basin, expected to produce 180,000 barrels of oil a day.

The platform will pump an initial 20,000 barrels a day from the Roncador light oil field, and is likely to reach a peak output of 180,000 barrels a day in the second half of 2008, says Petrobras.

The Roncador field, which also produces gas, lies in deep waters 125km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro state.
