Liberia Opens Up New Offshore Blocks

10 December 2007 17:17

A bidding round has opened for ten offshore oil blocks in Liberia, which will open the door to new players in the region following Sinopec's exploration deal last year.

The West African license round will close on 6 June next year and will open up blocks LB-1A, LB-1B, LB-2, LB-3, LB-4, LB-5, LB-6, LB-7, LB-10 and LB-14, each covering about 3,000mē from the coast line and 3,000m in depth.

The national oil company will set up data rooms in London and Houston for companies wishing to review the blocks, according to a report by Reuters.
