Chevron to Boost Natural Gas in Thailand18 December 2007 12:01 Supermajor Chevron has signed a Gas Sales Agreement (GSA) in Thailand to boost its natural gas supplies by 500 million cubic feet of gas per day. The agreement with PTT Public Company (PTT) covers blocks 10-13 in the Gulf of Thailand, which represent up to 50 percent of Chevron's current operating areas in the Pattani Basin. Chevron's exploration and production arm in Thailand says the agreement is expected to increase natural gas supplies from these blocks from a daily contract quantity of 740 million cubic feet in 2007 to 1,240 from 2012. Chevron operates more than 180 platforms in the Gulf of Thailand, with total average daily production in 2006 hitting more than 144,000 barrels of oil and condensate and 1.6 billion gross cubic feet of gas.
