DONG Makes North Sea Oil Discovery

Denmark's oil and gas company DONG Energy has made an "encouraging" oil, condensate and gas discovery in an appraisal well in the southern part of the North Sea, according to Norwegian energy officials.

The discovery was made in the Oselvar prospect in the Norwegian part of the North Sea where DONG Energy has a 40 percent stake.

Well tests produced the equivalent of 3,333 barrels of oil per day and 1,587 barrels of oil equivalent gas per day, according to Norweigan oil company PA Resources which owns a 30 percent stake.
