North Sea Storm Shuts StatoilHydro Production

04 January 2008 15:28

Norwegian oil company StatoilHydro has shut down production at its Veslefrikk oil field and reduced staffing at two other fields due to a storm in the North Sea.

Crews have been reduced to a minimum at the Veslefrikk and Visund fields, and at the Oseberg Sør platform.

A company spokesman told Associated Press that production at Oseberg Sør and Visund is expected to continue as normal.

Winds of over 70kph and waves reaching more than 30ft have been recorded in the area.
