Report Claims US Fuel Tankers Vulnerable To Terrorist Attacks

The US Coast Guard lacks the resources to adequately protect tankers carrying liquefied petroleum or crude oil from a possible terrorist attack, says the US Government Accountability Office.

The report says the Coast Guard is stretched too thin to meet its own security standards and in some cases does not have the necessary resources needed to respond to a terrorist attack on fuel tankers.
