Total Shuts Down North Sea Gas Field

07 February 2008 15:06

Total SA has shut its Elgin-Franklin natural gas and condensate fields in the UK North Sea, following poor output.

A spokesperson for Total told Bloomberg that the company is currently trying to maintain condensate production at a limited rate, without specifying the amount.

Gas is exported from the fields to Shell's Bacton Seal terminal in Norfolk, England.

Maximum production at the Elgin-Franklin fields is 280,000 bpd equivalent a day, including 175,000 barrels of condensate and 15.5 million cubic meters of gas.
