Bangladesh Opens Bay of Bengal Bids

The Bangladeshi Government is inviting international oil companies to bid for 28 oil and gas blocks in the hydrocarbon rich Bay of Bengal.

State-run oil company Petrobangla has invited bids for eight shallow water blocks and 20 deep sea blocks, with an exploration area between 3,000kmē and 7,000kmē, writes India's Economic Times.

Global oil companies can submit their offer by 7 May 2008.
