Kosmos Makes Second Ghana Discovery

25 February 2008 15:14

International oil and exploration company Kosmos Energy says it has made a significant oil discovery offshore the Republic of Ghana on the Cape Three Points block.

It says drilling, wireline logs and reservoir fluid samples show the Odum-1 well to have a gross oil column of 60m, sitting at a water depth of 955m.

The well is 13km east of Kosmos' Mahogany-1 well and the Jubilee Field.

Mahagony-1 was first discovered mid-June last year by Kosmos and its partners under the West Cape Three Points Block seven-year exploration agreement, according to Kosmos chairman and CEO James C Musselman.
