Exxon Restates Natuna Commitment

26 February 2008 17:03

Exxon Mobil has not cut its commitment to the Natuna D-Alpha gas reserve, despite Indonesia asking its state-owned oil company Pertamina to prepare to take on the role, according to a report by Reuters.

Indonesia has made it clear it will move with the production from Natuna regardless of whether Exxon pulls out of the difficult-to-reach reserve.

Natuna has been plagued in the past by disagreements on how to split its output, of which Exxon holds a 76 percent stake.
