Vietnam Awards Essar Offshore Block

Indian company Essar Oil's subsidiary Essar Exploration & Production Ltd Mauritius has been awarded an offshore block in Vietnam's Song Hong basin.

Essar says it will undertake a five-year exploration programme at a cost of US$60m, which will include detailed geological and geophysical studies, and the drilling of two exploratory wells to a depth of 3,500m.
