Ice Halts Husky Oil Production

10 April 2008 15:27

Heavy ice has halted production at the Husky Energy-owned White Rose oilfield offshore Newfoundland for the second time this week.

Husky says it is currently monitoring pack ice and icebergs moving through the area.

Production was shut-in on the SeaRose FPSO last week, while the drilling rig GSF Grand Banks was moved to an ice-free zone southwest of the field due to concerns about ice and icebergs near the facilities, says Husky.

Husky Energy is the operator of the White Rose field with a 72.5% working interest, while Petro-Canada holds the remaining 27.5%.
