OMV Takes Tunisian Oil Stake

Austrian oil and gas group OMV has acquired an 80 percent stake in an offshore Tunisia exploration license from Thani Tunisia Sidi Mansour BV.

The license covers an area of 6,592km² in water depths up to 60m, and is located 30km north of producing oilfield Ashtart in which OMV holds a stake, according to the company.

Work on the block is scheduled to start in 2008.
