06 May 2008 11:52

Indonesia is considering pulling out of OPEC, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has announced.

Talking to the nation in a televised speech, Yudhoyono expressed his concern over Indonesia's drying wells, writes the Associated Press.

He also said the country must now concentrate on increasing domestic production, which has dropped to less than a million barrels a day.

The Indonesian Government opened talks this week on its membership plans with OPEC.
