BP Awards Subsea 7 North Sea Deal

03 July 2009

Engineering and construction company Subsea 7 has been awarded a contract from BP Norway, for the engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning (EPIC) of the Valhall flank gas lift pipelines and wellhead platform riser caisson project in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

The contract has an estimated value of $40m.

The scope of work involves installation of two 8in pipelines, a new caisson on the wellhead platform and subsea tie-in spools at the Valhall Flank South and Valhall Flank North platform locations.

The project management and engineering will be performed at Subsea 7's offices in Stavanger, Norway. The offshore operations are set to take place in two campaigns starting in summer 2010.

The Valhall field is 290km off the south-west coast of Norway in 70m of water in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. The Valhall complex consists today of seven separate platforms: five in the centre and two Flank installations.
