12 March 2010

Sembcorp Marine said its Jurong Shipyard has won a S$130m($93m) contract from Petrobras.

The Singapore-based shipyard will carry out pre-conversion works on the VLCC MT Suva for the Brazilian state-owned oil producer.

MT Suva, to be renamed FPSO P62, is part of Brazil's offshore Roncador Field development plan.

FPSO P62, which will have a storage capacity of 1.6m barrels of oil, will be capable of processing more than 180,000bopd, injecting over 250,000 barrels of water per day and will be able to handle 6MMm³ of production gas.

The vessel, to be installed at a depth of 1,600 metres, is designed to remain at the field for up to 25 years without drydocking, Petrobas said.

The vessel is scheduled for completion in Q2 2011.
