UK oil services firm Amec has won a front end engineering design (FEED) contract from GDF Suez E&P UK for the development of the Cygnus field in the Southern North Sea.
Under the £50m contract, Amec will begin detailed design work immediately and will provide procurement services.
Work on the project will be complete next year.
GDF Suez E&P UK managing director Jean-Claude Perdigues said the FEED contract award represents a major milestone for the Cygnus field development.
