Bowleven has encountered oil at the Sapele-3 appraisal well on block MLHP-5 l in the Doula basin, offshore Cameroon.
The well, which lies within the Etinde permit, intersected 11m of net hydrocarbon pay in the deep Omicron interval.
The company anticipates an increase of oil in the deep Omicron interval.
The well is located 16km north-west of Sapele-1 and 13km north-west of the D-1r wells.
