GE to supply drill equipment for Brazilian oilfields

26 September 2011

GE Oil & Gas has secured a $230m contract from OGX Petroleo e Gas to supply drilling and production equipment for four years.

The company will supply equipment for three offshore fixed production platforms, which will be deployed in the Waimea and Waikiki oil and gas fields of the Campos Basin, offshore Brazil.

OGX will drill a significant number of production wells over the contract period.

GE will provide a subsea template / tieback design, which will help OGX boost initial production by maximising the use of the pre-drilled wells.

The subsea equipment will be built at GE's plants in Brazil, while surface equipment will be partially supplied from its facilities in the US.

Delivery will begin next year and will be complete by 2015.
