Inpex Timor Sea has started crude oil production from the Kitan oilfield, offshore Australia.
The Kitan oilfield is located in permit 06-105 of the joint petroleum development area, an area administered by Timor-Leste and Australia.
Crude oil produced from the field is processed through a floating production, storage and offloading vessel and peak production is projected at 40,000 barrels per day.
Inpex Timor Sea has a 35% participating interest in permit JPDA 06-105, Eni has 40% and Talisman Resources holds 25%.
