KBR receives PMC contract for ADNOC's offshore projects
US engineering company KBR has secured a project management consultancy (PMC) contract from Occidental of Abu Dhabi on behalf of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) for two gas fields located off the shore of the UAE.
The deal will see KBR manage the front-end engineering and design services (FEED) phase of the Dalma Gas Field Development, in addition to the detailed design and survey phases of the Hail and Ghasha Islands project.
The contracted works will be performed over a 24-month period, and the agreement also includes the option of an additional 12-month extension.
KBR EMEA president Jay Ibrahim said: “KBR is pleased with the opportunity to continue our sustained relationship with ADNOC by providing our expertise, best practices and knowledge in project management to oversee ADNOC's field production activities in Abu Dhabi.
“This project demonstrates KBR's ability to offer cost-effective solutions to our customers in the EMEA region by combining our global expertise and local presence.”
ADNOC is currently carrying out the development work of the Dalma Gas Field.
The Hail and Ghasha Project is expected to produce nearly one billion cubic feet of sour gas per day and is one of the largest sour gas fields under ADNOC management.
The project's development will include the design and construction of at least 11 artificial offshore islands.
KBR specialises in the provision of services and technologies to oil and gas sector operators across the entire asset and programme lifecycle.
The company operates in nearly 40 countries and is headquartered in the US.
