Subsea 7 wins North Sea Knarr field development contract

Subsea 7 has won a $400m subsea, umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF) contract from BG Norge to develop the Knarr field, in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

"The company will begin engineering and procurement activities immediately as offshore operations are planned in 2013 until 2014."

The company will carry out engineering, procurement, construction and installation works for a four kilometre flowline bundle contining production, water injection and service lines.

Stuart Fitzgerald, Subsea 7 vice president Norway, said: "Our unique pipeline bundle technology provides key advantages with respect to in place performance, delivery schedule and installed cost, for certain developments, and these advantages have been fully realised on the Knarr project infield pipeline system."

Subsea will also provide a standalone water injection flow line, flexible riser systems, the static and dynamic umbilicals systems, as well as various subsea structures.
