French oil and gas firm Total E&P Norge has discovered proven reserves of gas and oil at a wildcat well, west of the Norne field, offshore Norway.
The company completed drilling well 6607/12-2 S in production licence 127 using the Songa Delta drilling facility.
Drilled to a depth of 4,245m below sea surface, the well encountered oil and gas in both the primary and secondary exploration targets.
Preliminary estimates of the discovery's size are between three million and 16 million cubic metres of recoverable oil equivalent.
