Odfjell Drilling has been awarded a contract by Total E&P South Africa following the conditional letter of award (CLoA) announced in March.

The contract is for one well and includes an optional well to be drilled by the sixth generation semi-submersible, Deepsea Stavanger, offshore South Africa. 

This deal will begin between June 2018 and April 2019. Works will be carried out back to back with completion of the ongoing contract with Wintershall Norge on the Maria field or any following contract. 

Valued at $55m, the contract includes compensation for mobilisation / demobilisation period.

Last month, Odfjell Drilling was awarded a two-year fixed contract with no limit of one-year options from TAQA Bratani. The scope of this contract covers drilling and maintenance services on five platforms on the UK Continental Shelf.

Under this contract, Odfjell Drilling will take over operations from the current contractors in Q3 of this year.
